These cyanotypes were created through a play of light: The coated papers were placed in sunlight and folded step by step. The different exposure times ensure a gradation of colour intensity. Despite the desire to create straight, geometric patterns, the paper as a material resists folding, which creates irregularities. Not only does the material have its own effect, but also natural forces such as sun, wind and clouds, which I had to deal with. Finally, colouring creates even more anomalies and stains. The dream of a smooth, geometric world is thus denied.
